The music documentary MEKY, of which Jenewein Group is the general partner, after another summer screening in cinemas and amphitheatric areas, and very favorable responses from spectators and reviewers, had another ceremonial screening at the Lucerna cinema on September 3, 2020. This time in connection with the christening of the representative 3CD The Best of Miro Žbirka and Songbook, which are a continuation of the recapitulation of Miroslav Žbirka's more than forty years of successful acting on the Czech-Slovak music scene. The selection of greatest hits on three CDs contains 68 tracks, and the book includes 180 lyrics with guitar chords. Each album has its own authentic story, which, according to Meky's narration, was written by renowned Czech music publicist Václav Hnátek. In Bratislava, Meky presented a 3CD and a Songbook at an autograph session on September 18, 2020, in Panta Rhei, together with Kamil Peteraj, who celebrated his 75th birthday on this very day. • Amrop Jenewein at the first annual Family Business Congress
Due to a COVID-19 pandemic already in the spring of this year, the first year of the International Family Business Congress was postponed from the original March date to September 9, 2020. Because of the current situation, the organizer – the Family Business Institute, in an effort to behave responsibly towards participants, partners, and itself, decided to make it happen online. The main motto More than the business is at stake remained, minimal changes also affected the planned program – thanks to modern technologies, all workshops were realized online and, despite the absence of personal meetings, there was space created for networking too. As a part of Jenewein Group and with more than 30 years of family tradition, one of the family business pioneers Amrop Jenewein has been one of the thematic partners of the event with its workshop from the beginning. The content consisted of three main topics focusing on the question Who should be entrusted with Family Business leadership?. In the beginning, the registered participants learned how to choose suitable candidates for the management of a family business. Igor Šulík and Matej Taliga described the advantages, but also the pitfalls when the company management takes the members of the family or someone who is not a member of the family or a combination. In the end, they brought a closer look at how the three pillars of the family's ecosystem and its family business can be linked: FAMILY – OWNERS – MANAGERS.

  • Trend: Amrop Jenewein is a professional partner of the Human Resources series
The issues of the first half of the year brought even more uncertainty to the business and radically affected the functioning of companies and people. Many organizations have started saving to survive. However, it is crucial that, by including austerity, they do not reduce the options of development and of using the crisis as an opportunity. The weekly magazine Trend has once again included the Human Resources series in its publishing plan to contribute with some inspiration for bringing the best solutions. In five sequels, the editors focused on handling the challenges posed by the pandemic, especially on what managers and leaders have to do, what qualities and skills they need to succeed, and how to strengthen the management of people and processes with new elements? Amrop Jenewein became a professional partner of the series, with Martin Krekáč and Igor Šulík assisting in processing the two of five main topics with their experience and recommendations.

  • 30th anniversary of Jenewein Group in graphics by academic sculptor Milan Lukáč
As a special gift and as a memorial to the 30th anniversary of the birth of Jenewein Group, and Amrop Jenewein and Fipra in its portfolio, the academic sculptor Milan Lukáč created a series of hand-colored graphics FACE 2 FACE with four principal motives. The unique works of the closed collection imaginatively combine the main visual elements of our corporate identity with artist motives and will become a rare reminder of another milestone in the Jenewein Group timeline beginning in 1990.

  • Slovak premiere of the film MEKY in Bratislava's Stará tržnica
On the evening of Monday, July 13, 2020, the Slovak ceremonial premiere of the music documentary MEKY about the singer Miroslav Žbirka took place in Bratislava's Stará tržnica. As one of the film critics wrote on this occasion, "director Šimon Šafránek managed to put together a dynamic portrait of a man who significantly exceeded on the Czechoslovak music scene due to talent, his intelligence, but also family roots and admiration for British culture". Many faces from the music and show-business world did not miss the premiere of CZSK novelty in the presence of the main "actor" and the team of creators. Invited by Jenewein Group, several guests from the business world also attended the premiere. The wide distribution of the film MEKY in Slovak cinemas started on July 16.

  • Czech premiere of the film MEKY as part of the parade Tady Vary
As the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival could not happen this year due to the extraordinary situation, the organizing team decided to pass on at least part of the festival to its audience. And so, a complex film block was created, which was screened in almost a hundred Czech cinemas in nearly 80 cities for nine days (July 3-11, 2020) as part of the Tady Vary parade. The audience had the opportunity to see not only great films but also to experience a bit of the traditional festival atmosphere. The exclusive selection of 16 movies also included the musical documentary MEKY – its Czech premiere took place on July 8, 2020, at the Světozor cinema in Prague, while, on the same day, the meeting with its creators was broadcasting to another 95 cinemas throughout the Czech Republic. We represented Jenewein Group by CZSK assembly, and with our guests, we enjoyed the first great successes – the record-breaking attendance (during opening five days in Czech cinemas, more than 10,000 people have seen the film Meky) and winning the Mall.TV Audience Award as the most popular film of the parade Tady Vary.

  • Jenewein Group at the pre-premiere of music documentary Meky
The music documentary Meky, of which Jenewein Group is the general partner, was originally to have its premiere at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. However, due to the new coronavirus pandemic, the festival was postponed to next year, so Miroslav Žbirka and his wife Kateřina decided to organize a pre-premiere screening directly in their garden. The private garden party took place on June 25, 2020, in Prague. Besides the Czech lion-awarded director of the film Meky Šimon Šafránek and the president of the Karlovy Vary festival Jiří Bartoška, Kryštof Mucha, the management of Bontonfilm, of Czech Television, and of the music label publisher Universal also attended the premiere. Among the invited, of course, was Martin Krekáč, the founding partner and chairman of Jenewein Group, with his family.

  • Forbes: The PRF association introduces the Family Business topic in its June release
Many family companies are going through a difficult period during which they have to deal not only with everyday responsibilities and often unexpected challenges but also with the future. This year's ranking of the largest family companies, which is regularly compiled by the monthly magazine Forbes Slovensko, includes this fact too. Because of the pandemic, the solemn result announcement has been postponed to the autumn, but the June release of the magazine remained devoted to the family business. We are all the more pleased that the Partners of Family-Owned Companies (Partneri Rodinných Firiem – PRF) association has become a partner of this topic. The Family Business section, which presents inspiring stories of family companies or an overview of the problems they are currently facing, opens with an interview with Michal Kukula from nebotra consulting and Rastislav Mackanič from Amrop Jenewein. The two founding members of the association agree that many family companies do not have a well-thought-out plan and react spontaneously to a sudden crisis. Read an unshortened version of the interview here.

Two more senior experts joined the founding members in early June. Igor Šulík, Managing Leadership Partner and Amrop global leader for Leadership Services (leadership development, succession, and corporate culture-building) and Erika Matwij, owner and CEO of the family company Human Inside (strategy, management and human resources of family companies). Besides its consulting activities, PRF presented itself in the weekly magazine Trend in April and May as part of the five-part Family Business series, whose professional partners were the consulting companies Amrop Jenewein and nebotra consulting. In June, PRF entered into a partnership with the monthly magazine Forbes SK, where a special Family Business section was published, presenting inspiring stories of business families or an overview of the problems they are currently facing.
  • Jenewein Group has connected its 30th anniversary celebrations with the brand Meky
It is not the first time that Jenewein Group has combined exceptional moments in its history with a personality of popular music. On our 11th anniversary, Marika Gombitová and Janko Lehotský pleased us with their performances at the gala evening marked by a symbolic two 1 digits. It was no different at the celebration of our 15th anniversary. We have been much honored at our quarter-century celebration with a private concert by Marika Gombitová and now, in the year of our 30th anniversary, we are honored too with connecting with the Czech-Slovak legend – Miroslav Žbirka, as we are a general partner of his new documentary MEKY (Miro Žbirka Zblízka). We are glad that the Czech-Slovak birthday of our consulting group has met with Meky's year loaded with as many of his projects in the Czech Republic and Slovakia as possible. In the year 2020 for his fans, he has prepared the documentary film, concert DVD, next episodes of the music television talk show Doupě, Cinema Acoustic Tour 2020, his Songbook, or a selection of his biggest hits Best Of 3CD. Together with Meky, with our partners and guests we will be experiencing the individual parts of his great Czech-Slovak program, which began on July 8, 2020, with the Karlovy Vary Film Festival (KVIFF 2020) and will last until the end of the year.

  • Trend: Amrop Jenewein is a professional partner of the Family Business series again
Amrop Jenewein has once again joined the strength of its brand with the Family Business series – its eighth sequel was published in five episodes by the weekly magazine Trend. Since the very beginning of its own (family) business in consulting services, Jenewein Group, including the Slovak Amrop, accompanies successful business families in the moments of their strategic decision-making and assists them in crucial business moments. Through the Czech-Slovak platform Jenewein.private, we provide them with service and support in the standard of a specialized Family Office, within which we base on expertise in several topics. These many years of our experience are portrayed in the Family Business series too, where the Trend magazine is introducing successful business and family stories, as well as solutions leading to the success of family-owned companies. We have joined with nebotra consulting for professional cooperation on this year's series. Within the collaboration and alongside accepting the invitation to participate in two editorial interviews, we introduced the Partners of Family-Owned Companies (Partneri Rodinných Firiem – PRF) association. Its founding members are also Matej Taliga, Tomáš Bereta, and Rastislav Mackanič from Jenewein Group.

  • We supported three diploma theses with our topics and experiences
By including the position of Happiness Manager in its organizational structure, Jenewein Group is one of the pioneers in the implementation of happiness management in the Czech and Slovak environment. This topic has spread not only into the real life of companies and its employees but also into the program of several conferences, workshops, or discussion meetings. In school year 2019/2020, we have assisted in developing knowledge of this area in academia as well, as happiness management has become the topic of two final theses. Michaela Klocaňová, a student of the University of Žilina in Žilina (Economics and Management study department), devoted herself to it in her diploma thesis Happiness Management in the conditions of Slovak Republic. Diana Železná, a student of Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica (Economics and Management study department), devoted herself to it in her bachelor's thesis Happiness Manager as an innovative approach of companies to ensure employee job satisfaction. We also provided professional support to Zuzana Síbertová, a student of Collegium Humanum – Szkola Glówna Menedžerska in Warsaw (Human Resources Management study department). In her diploma thesis Principles of Age Management in the Corporate Environment, she focused on the current understanding of human resources management concerning the age and ability of the workers. We supported all three students not only with theoretical background but also with several contacts, verified sources, and the opportunity to gain real experience verified in our daily practice through personal meetings and questionnaires.

  • Amrop Jenewein introduces By Role specializations
The world of work is changing rapidly: scissors between demand and supply on the labor market are in some cases increasingly more open and the requirements for potential employees are different too. Thanks to the unique 3D specialization (By Industry – By Ownership – By Role), Amrop understands very well not only the specific contexts of individual sectors, the impact of the type of ownership on the needs and functioning of organizations, but also the mission and nature of standardized and specialized positions. And just By Role specialization has become an incentive to create a series in which Amrop consultants will gradually introduce nine major positions for organizations and the profile of optimum candidates who will surely succeed in them. In addition to our own websites and social networks, we will also use the media collaboration with InStore Slovakia magazine to present individual parts to the professional public, in which Amrop Slovakia has become an exclusive partner of the section People.
